My poor little man

On Tuesday night we had my brother and my cousin's family over and had a little bbq and then went to town making bows. We were having so much fun my cousin decided to come over yesterday while the kids were in school and make some more.  When we got home from picking Alexis up at school I decided to watch So You Think You Can Dance on my DVR. About 10 minutes into my kids decide to start dancing like the kids on TV, which they always do, no biggie right. Well then Kyle decides to try and do a twirl and lost his balance and hit his head on the corner of our entertainment center. The worst part is at first he wasn't even crying and then he took a huge breath and starts screaming. I'm such a good mom, I didn't even realize he had passed out from hitting the entertainment center so hard, I just figured he wasn't crying so he was fine. I picked him up to get him to calm down and then Alexis starting screaming "Mom, he's getting blood all over".  I turn him around and the back of his head is gushing blood. Seriously, I'm not even kidding, the whole back of his head was red, his shirt was covered in blood, my neck and arms had blood all over them. It was so bad. I put a towel on his head and applied pressure to try and get the blood to stop and to see how big the gash was. After a few minutes I got the blood to stop enough and saw how deep the cute was and then I literally threw the kids in the car and went to the hospital. The whole way there Kyle was just out of it and looked as pale as a ghost. I kept asking him questions because he looked like he was going to pass out again.

I get to the hospital and they weren't going to let me admit him because I didn't bring my wallet/co-pay with. Are you freaking kidding me??? I took the towel off his head and showed it to the nurse and said I'm not leaving you need to fix my son's head. Luckily they didn't give me any more crap. We ended up being there 4 hours, mostly because he had such a bad concussion and they wanted to keep him for observation before they sent him home. I hated having him lay there on the table all wrapped up, it was horrible and all he would say is Momma hold me. I started to tear up a couple times, but I kept telling myself to hold it together for him. They were going to put staples in his head, but once they cleaned it out, the cut was too deep and he had to have stitches to secure it properly. The cut is about a 1/4 of an inch wide, which doesn't sound like a lot, but because its in the back of his head it bleed so much. I had to wake him up every couple of hours last night to make sure he was alert and the concussion wasn't getting worse, and thankfully this morning he was his same silly self.  When he told me "i got sticcccheeess" I figured he was just fine.

I knew having a boy I was going to have to deal with stitches and broken arms...but man, I certainly didn't think it would be this soon. I just pray he didn't inherit my accident proneness.
