I missed my calling...

I love to decorate and if I had enough courage to start a new career I would absolutely love to work at a interior decorating firm. Lately I have had been addicted to painting my new house out with the boring beige walls, its about time to add some more color. Plus I have been trying to decorate without spending a ton of money, which means creating my own decorations. I'm pretty impressed with some of the things I have done-thank goodness for IKEA, Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel catalogs, oh and my new favorite magazine Utah Style. I have an idea scrapbook with everything cut out that I love and it helps spark my creative juices!

I been looking for these berry circles forever, and to my luck they were at Tai Pan for $2.50, plus the cute vase was only $5. Not bad, in fact I had to get 2 them, one for each side of my counter.

I am working on redecorating my bedroom-in fact it is almost fully taped and ready to be painted. I am using a dark olive green, it is totally going to transform my room. (I painted my bathroom a shade lighter last night and I love it.) I'll post pictures on Monday. Ok back to the wreath-I love Fall colors and decided I wanted to enjoy them all year around so these colors became my palette for my room. I couldn't find a wreath that fit the colors (and was less then $100) so I made my own. I found these super cute berry balls and leaves in single strands, so I cut them all up and stuck them in a plain wreath from Roberts. I think all together this wreath was about $17. I was thrilled with how it turned out, especially for my 1st wreath ever.

I had a few extra strands of berries, so I decorated this star candle holder for my dresser.

I love the new trend of having your kids names in their room, but I wasn't going to pay $15+ per letter and they are just boring. So I bought plain wood letters at Michael's for $.99 and painted them the same color as the daises I have stamped in Alexis' room, I then dug into my scrapbook stash and used flowers, rhinestones, and ribbon I already had. I don't think the pictures do them justice, they turned out really cute, and match her room perfectly.

I also made Kyle's name letters, but instead of painting I used scrapbook paper, modge podge, and once again I dug into my scrapbook supplies. I love, love, love his name letters!
We have a busy weekend ahead of us, so I'm sure there will be lots of pics to post. I have a room to paint, my brother's baptism, a baby blessing and hopefully a new baby to go visit in the hospital.

Wow! those letters and wreath are adorable! I have a wreath that is similar that I had to creat myself because I couldn't find one I liked! Pretty sure I LOVE Robert's and Michaels. Especially when I get those 50% off coupons!!!
