and then he turned four...
besides the ever growing list of toys that he wanted for his birthday, the only other thing Kyle wanted to do for his birthday was go to Chuck-e-Cheese, this smile never went away the entire time we were there.

It's still a mystery to me how this little sick baby, that wasn't supposed to make it through his first night has turned into my little man. I think all the pain, poking and proding he had to endure the first 31 days of his life made him the most gentle and mild mannered litte boy I have ever met. Of course he has his moments, but he is definitely my little blessing from above (and it doesn't hurt that he is a total momma's boy either).

After our day at Chuck-e-Cheese we had everyone over for a dragon/dinosaur birthday party. Alexis gave Kyle his new Batman costume and that thing was not coming off for anything.

I love that these two little boys have almost no pictures together without their costumes on. I think McKadin knows right where Kyle's costume drawer is, because he literally runs upstairs as soon as he walks in the door to put one of them one.  (Wolverine and Batman were about to have it out in this picture)

The birthday party was just the start to our night, we had 7 kids sleepover that night...let's just say what would normally be most kiddos bed time was about the time these kids woke up.  About 9pm Alexis and Madison decided to give each other makeovers and take silly pictures.

As much fun as Kyle's birthday weekend was, my little baby has had a pretty rough month.

The whole month of January and pretty much 3/4 of February is just one sleepless blur of doctor's appointments, prescriptions, breathing treatments and allergy tests. Makenna had a pretty bad allergic reaction while we were in St. George in January, and the next couple of weeks things just went downhill. Every food we would try would cause the same problems, facial swelling, rash, ecsema and throwing up. We tried apples, bananas, carrots, peaches, pears, squash...everything made her sick.  The poor thing was covered head to toe in the worst rash I have ever seen, we now live coated in steriod ointments, but it's working and that's all that matters.

On top of all this three little kids in her nursery at daycare got RSV about three weeks ago and just when I thought we were in the clear, she got it to.   A couple days later we went to an allergist and found out that she has a severe intolerance to asorbic acid-or vitamin C. Well, just about every baby food out there uses asorbic acid for preserving the food, which explains why everything we tried made her sick.  We went back last week for her 6 month check-up and I was just so frustrated because she wasn't getting better, if anything she was just getting sicker, turns out she got an ear infection on top of the RSV.  After a couple days on anti-biotics I feel like my baby is back and happy again.

But in the middle of all this I realized that Makenna is 6 months old now...

she has figured out how to army crawl and sit up, she loves sticking her tongue out, got her first tooth last week, holds her arms out for you, and my most favorite thing is she can say mamamamama (usually when she's tired, but hey I'll take it she said mama before dada, one out of three isn't too bad), she never ciries and is the most happy smiling baby I have ever seen.

Oh and she has made Grandpa Mike's whole life, because he finally has a grandkid with his auburn hair.

Holy crap! That's too much nastiness for such a sweet little girl. So sorry to hear that. Hopefully she'll overcome that allergy as she get's older. You guys take care...
