Look Who's 3

Happy 3rd Birthday Kyle!!! I honestly with all my heart cannot believe that this little man is going to be three years old tomorrow.  Three years ago this little boy came into the world way too early and had to fight to stay here for the first 31 days of his life.  Even though that was the hardest month of our life, Kyle never gave up and has been such a trooper through everything, all the poking, proding, specialists, doctors and tests.  The doctors are still completely amazed that he is as healthy as he is now. We are definitely blessed to have to little man in our lives.

We had a little birthday party for him on Saturday with our family.  Kyle couldn't decide what kind of cake he wanted, so its ended up being a Spiderman, Batman and Buzz birthday.  He loved his Buzz gun and has been killing bad guys ever since he opened it. (Just a little warning, those darts come out much harder and faster than you would ever expect. Trust me, I learned first hand from Justin shooting me in the face-on accident, of course).

McKadin is Kyle's best buddy and was next to him opening every single present and helping him figure out how they all worked. I think their favorite was the cool new Spiderman web slingers.  I'm sure those boys are going to be spending a lot of time killing bad guys with these webs.

I didn't really get a good shot of the birthday cake from the front, but if you look close you can see the yellow batman signal, the spiderman candle and Buzz shooting his laser. He loved his birthday cake and loved playing with the toys after the candles were blown out.

The best present of all, Kyle acutally gave us, he finally decided that he was a big boy and isn't scared of the potty (don't ask why he has to be completely naked to go potty-at this point its not worth fighting over). Yes, he'll kill me for this picture when he's bigger, but look how adorable he is!!! He has been doing better and better and only had one accident all weekend, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be out of pull-ups and in big boy underpants. (Which also means a few diaperless months for mom and dad!!!!)

This is such the perfect picture of Kyle right now, always dressing up and playing with his best superhero buddy McKadin. I always thought girls were more into playing dress-up, but oh no...these two boys have completely proven me wrong.
