The Final Week

I am so relieved to know that this is truly my final week of being pregnant..forever. Thank goodness-to say that I'm over it is completely the understatement of the year-no decade.  I am so beyond thankful that I have been able to go full-term and my fingers are crossed that this little one will be healthy and will be able to come home with us next week.
Ahh, that sounds so nice...next week.

You know it's time to not be pregnant anymore when maternity clothes are this tight.
and at 7am your feet look like this.

But in one last attempt to get as ready, as you can for another baby, we've been finishing up some little things and little details around the house. For Kyle...that meant buying him his first big boy bike. He loves his spiderman bike and has almost figured out that the pedals go forward not backward to make him go faster. My plan is to have him be a pro at bike riding in the next few weeks so we can walk down to Alexis' school and pick her up everyday.

For Alexis...that meant going school shopping and getting ready for 1st grade. Can someone please explain to me how it is even possible for my baby girl to be starting 1st grade in a couple weeks?  But she made me promise to not put any pictures of her or her new clothes up on our blog until school started, because it has to be a "surprise".

And for the new little one...that meant getting her room all ready. (Actually its been pretty much ready for a couple months-blame it my OCD-once I get a project started I have to finish it and not let it sit).  But now all the blankets are washed, everything is built and all her clothes are put away.

The NURSERY
On Alexis' last day of Kindergarten her teacher gave me this painting that she did for the art festival and I fell in love with it. I actually couldn't believe that my little girl made this, but more than that I loved the colors and Alexis and I decided to decorate M's room with the same colors.  I really wanted to go a little more girly than I had in the past, but after a lot of convincing Justin talked me into at least painting the room green-just in case all 12 of my ultrasounds were wrong. (Wishful thinking? Maybe?) So we decided on sage green, pink and brown as the color palatte.
With dragonflies and butterflies as the main accessory. I put alot of creative ideas to use-for example these little buddies used to be strung together to hang from a door and were almost a flourescent green. Let's just say we cleaned out Michael's white spray paint on multiple occasions.
This little butterfly hanging started out as clear acrylic butterflies (which were supposed to be an scrapbook album).

This butterfly was on the super extra clearance isle at Michael's and I think I paid a whopping $2 for it. Oh I better tell you that it started out as a butt ugly orange color. I was a little worried how it would turn out, but it is just adorable after about 10 coats of spray paint.
This frame was also an antiqued gold one and that vase just a plain terra cotta vase from the dollar store. Alexis turned this vase into her little project and added all the gems that she found in my scrap stuff.  And there are few more of our little dragonfly buddies.
I got this mirror at Ross for $15 and when I got it was a metallic copper. After a couple coats of paint and some sanding I glued the dragonflies and butterflies to it and then hung it with pink and brown ribbon. It's all those extra little touches and made her room so fun.
Love this canopy, although not as easy and you would think to hang. Plus I made sure to get one unattached so we can put it above her big girl bed when she's a toddler. And you can't go wrong with Martha Stewart tissue paper balls for a little extra touch.
This picture was a total accident. I really didn't mean to blur out all the outfits on the sides, but I love it, because my most favorite outfit that I have for her is the one that is in focus-with the little mary jane booties sewn into it. I just can't wait it have a picture of her in it.
What do you think?  I love how it has turned out. But I love even more that my 4th bedroom is finally decorated and not just a spare storage room.

Now for my next project...
turning this wall into something...something with a little zest of color and maybe possibly some of this....

but for now I think that project will wait until this little angel makes an appearance. I told you there's always something that I'm working on.  Hopefully the next week will fly by, or maybe she'll decide to just come on her own and I won't have to play this waiting game anymore.
