Spring Weekend

Can I just tell you how much I love spring? This whole weekend was so nice, still a little cold, but warm enough to get outside and soak in some sun. I even got a little sun-kissed nose to prove it.

On Saturday we went to McKadin’s birthday party, and since I was put in charge of Steph’s camera I didn’t get any pictures with my own. After we had cake and ice cream we all went and played on the basketball court just so we could be outside.

The boys had a killer games of Horse going on, which was pretty amusing, especially with so many little ones wanting to play. I do have to say that I beat Ty, Justin and Steph in our mini version of Horse. Sucks to be beat by a pregnant women, but man it felt so good to kick the boys butts.

Madison and Alexis did a little sunbathing while the boys played hoops (I’m telling you, they both have way too many teen-agey tendencies). Alexis wasn’t much in the playing mood because earlier in the day her and Madison were running back to the party and had a pretty nasty spill and cut up both her knees and her palms. The poor thing is such a girly-girl, she just didn’t know what to do with scabs and band-aids on her knees.

McKadin and Kyle got board with the basketball game after a while and starting playing bad guys with McKadin’s new Batman toys.

I have this little man trained so well. Everytime he sees my camera out he starts saying "Cheese" and smiling for me (at least he's just smiling right now, none of that posing like his sister does).

It's so nice that Alexis has Madison to play with, Kyle has McKadin and our new little one will have Sophie. Absolutely perfect! No one ever has to get left out.

As you can tell I was just hanging out taking pictures and how can you resist when this little one is sitting a couple feet away. I just wish these pictures would do her sky blue eyes justice.

(This bitter beer smile is classic.)

Saturday morning was also pretty exciting for Alexis. I had heard through the grapevine about this photographer up in Farmington and she does a “Fairy Day” once a year and I knew Alexis would just love to do this photoshoot. So I signed her up a couple months ago and then some medical stuff came up with Kyle and I just couldn’t spend the extra money on this photoshoot when I needed it for his new medication. I talked to the owner/photographer and being the sweet and amazing person that she is, she gave Alexis the spot for free so she didn’t have to be disappointed. It was the funniest morning, and all about making the little girls fairies. She got her fingers and toes painted, her face painted, her hair done and then had the coolest fairyland photoshoot. I cannot wait to see our proofs. Robin was having so much fun taking pictures of my little poser and just couldn’t stop laughing at the things she was coming up with. I love Robin to death and I will forever be her client for our family pictures now. It’s so nice to know that there are really sweet and generous people left in this world. Alexis was all pictured out when we got home, but I still managed to get a few of her with the twigs and flowers in her hair (and I snuck a few pics in at McKadin's party).

This is pretty big week for me. I’m finally ½ way through this pregnancy and I can’t even tell you how excited I am to be able to start counting backwards. I’ve been feeling better, but still have those horrible days. Hopefully those bad days start spreading themselves out even more and I can have an amazingly healthy few months. A lot of you know that the last 20 weeks have not been good for me with my previous babies. But I have good thoughts and I’m praying that I’ve been so sick for the first half of this pregnancy so I don’t have to have the problems in the end. So far everything looks a thousand times better than it did with Kyle, let’s just keep it that way. One good sign is with my other two by this point I was already starting to get high blood pressure, my baby bump was huge and I had gained about 13 pounds. With this little girl I’m still down a couple of pounds (although after finding out that they sell chocolate peeps at the Maverick by my house-that may have changed over the weekend) and I’m still wearing normal clothes. My pants are getting a little snug on my hips, but still fit my stomach really well. I’m hoping I can push my clothes out another month, because I just detest maternity pants. It will be nice being pregnant in the summer because I have a ton of skirts and capris I can wear to work that will fit me that entire time. I have another ultrasound next Friday and I cannot wait to see how big she has gotten since last month.
