She DID it!

Up until this summer Alexis has always been so scared of the water, it would take a REALLY long time to convince her to jump into the pool and she would have to be touching your hand before she would give in, and she wouldn't even think about getting her head wet. We put her in swim lessons this summer and she is a completely different little girl in the water.

She is so proud of herself for being able to dunk her head (it is the cutest thing, she will plug her nose, but as soon as she hits the water, she lets go of her nose???? I'm not sure how that idea got in her head). Plus she will run and jump into the pool now, right now she is trying to figure out how to swim on her back. I knew she finally realized that swimming was fun when her class was playing a diving game (the teacher would throw 10+ balls in the water and then the kids had to swim to them and dive under the water to get them). I was watching her class in between reading "Breaking Dawn" and Alexis came up with 7 or 8 balls and only one of the other kids had a ball. She's not competitive at all! I'm so glad she loves the water now.
